Youtube gets The Obamas, BTS, Lady Gaga to headline its Virtual Graduation Ceremony

Youtube's Grad party made cool by the best in the business

Youtube is gearing up for its biggest feature “Dear Class of 2020”, an all-star graduation ceremony headlined by Lady Gaga, BTS, Alicia Keys.

The festival will be themed around the traditional graduation day celebration. The event will be kick-started by commencement speeches from former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.

Notable commencement speakers will also include Alphabet and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Malala Yousafzai, former Secretary of State and Defense. The BTS will be performing at the after grad night party.

“Dear Class of 2020” is set to take place on June 6 with special appearances from Kerry Washington, Chloe x Halle, Youtube’s creator Jackie Aina, and Dude Perfect.

“Graduation is a tradition that students and families look forward to and with the current state of the world, Youtube is lending some inspiration in the form of a virtual commencement to encourage these students,” said Susanne Daniels global head of content for Youtube.

Events and tours around the world have been cancelled as a result of the deadly spread of coronavirus. Platforms across the US have opted for a live streaming graduation ceremony to appreciate students’ hard work.

Schedule for the event will be available on the [email protected] site starting May 17.
