Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘Rifleman’ Delayed For THIS Reason?

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput had announced that he has roped in to play the role of Jaswant Singh Rawat in his biopic Rifleman. Yes, this would be the second biopic in which Sushant will be seen playing a pivotal role. If the latest report is t be believed, the film Rifleman has been pushed ahead due to some legal issues. The film will narrate the life and valiant fight that Jaswant Singh Rawat put up during the battle of Nuranang in 1962.

Like MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Rifleman seems to be a great film too. A close source told the Pinkvilla, “Little did the producers know when they announced the film that it will land them in a legal soup. As of now, there is an issue with the rights to the biopic on Rifleman and the matter is being dealt with in Court.”

It is to be noted that the news came after a big conflict between family members of the slain martyr. “Jaswant Singh lost his life fighting for the country. Now, one of his family members had given the rights to his biopic to Abundatia Entertainment, headed by producer Vikram Malhotra. They had gone ahead and announced the project with Sushant who was absolutely bowled over by the story. Things were perfectly fine till they found out that another family member had already given the rights to another film team, who have already completed their project. Titled 72 hours, the film’s official trailer was launched last year in December. Now they are fighting a case against the makers of Rifleman and that has caused a delay in the proceedings,” the source added.

Confirming the news, when the production house was asked about the same, the film’s official spokesperson told the publication, “Rifleman is on track and progressing well with the writing and development presently underway. Any news that suggests otherwise is entirely baseless and false. All matters of a legal nature are being appropriately dealt with.”
