Sushant Singh Rajput: Rajeev Masand called in by Mumbai Police to record his statement

Film critic Rajeev Masand has been summoned in Sushant Singh Rajput's death investigation. The film critic arrived at the Bandra Police station on Tuesday afternoon. More details below.

Over a month after Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, the Mumbai Police have still continued its
investigation. In the latest update, journalist and film critic Rajeev Masand on Tuesday arrived at the Bandra police station to record his statement in the matter. Earlier noted filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Aditya Chopra were summoned to record their statement in the sensational case.

In a recent interview with Republic Tv, Kangana Ranaut bashed the Mumbai Police investigation,
calling it a ‘sham’. She also urged them to summon Bollywood biggies like Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhat,
Rajeev Masand among others.

In her statement, she said, “I am not saying that anyone wanted Sushant to die, but definitely doomed. These people are emotional vultures. They want to see people lynch themselves. To date, Mahesh Bhatt is selling Parveen Babi’s illness in so many versions through his films. Why is Mumbai Police not summoning’ Aditya Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt, Karan Johar, Rajeev Masand? These 4 people. Why because they are powerful’ With this interview, I only have things to lose.”

After Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, the debate over Nepotism in the industry spread like wildfire. Masand faced the internet’s ire soon after the picture of his articles went viral.

The Mumbai Police have ruled out any foul play in Sushant Singh’s death. Asphyxia due to hanging is stated as the cause of death of the actor. So far, over 35 people have been questioned by the Mumbai Police including girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra among others.

Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on 14th June at his Bandra apartment. The actor was 34. His last film ‘Dil Bechara’ is set to release on 24th July on Disney+Hotstar. The movie will be available to subscribers and non-subscribers.
