Within minutes of its release, Dil Bechara became the top trend on Twitter. The Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi starrer is the Hindi adaptation of Hollywood film The Fault In Our Stars. The movie garnered huge traffic on the OTT platform as it reportedly crashed for some time. The film also broke the IMDb record for the highest rated Indian film. With over 49, 188 votes, the film’s rating has soared up to 9.8.
Reacting to the news, fans took to social media for one last hurrah! One Twitter user said, “That’s what we call a tribute to #SushantSinghRajpoot …His presence will be missed and remembered. …10/10 on #IMDb..Record-breaking. …Never ever happened to any movie.” Another said, “I didn’t think I had the strength to watch the movie till the end. Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on 14th June 2020 at his Bandra apartment. After his demise, Sushant Singh’s fans demanded the movie to release in theatres. However, due to the increasing coronavirus cases in India, the film had to be released digitally.
Dil Bechara follows the story of Kizzi and Manny both of whom are suffering from life-threatening diseases. The film chalks their final journey as they decide to live their life to the fullest. Dil Bechara is helmed by debut director Mukesh Chabbra.
