Actress Richa Chadha expresses regret over her harsh comments on mental health

Richa Chadha has garnered a platform for herself in Bollywood with her versatility. The actor is well known for her smart choice of roles and has been nailing every character she portrays on screen.

Last year she landed herself in trouble by mocking a person’s ‘bipolar’ condition for which she sought an apology recently . Richa asserted, she has begun to understand the significance of mental health issues and has hence issued the apology.

“I think last year I made a joke about someone being ‘bipolar’. The joke was borne out of a petulant desire to seem witty in even less than 280 characters. As I am now only beginning to grasp what #mentalhealth means, I just want to apologise and couldn’t have said this sooner!,” the actress tweeted on Monday.

On the personal front, Richa and her long time boyfriend Ali Fazal were to tie the knot in April, as per reports. The couple has been dating for over four years. In February, they had applied for marriage registration at a court in Mumbai. The actors admitted to the wedding being postponed due to the unavoidable circumstances.
