The film Kurukshetra has received rave reviews from both critics and audiences alike. It was released in 1000 screens across the country, making it the widest release for any Kannada film alongside dubbed Telugu version. Apart from Telugu and Kannada, Kurukshetra was released in Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil languages as well.
Notably, Munirathna Kurukshetra is an Indian Kannada-language epic historical war film, written by J. K. Bharavi and directed by Naganna. The film is based on the epic poem Gadhayuddha by Ranna, which itself is based on the Indian epic Mahabharata. The story is centred on Duryodhana, the Kaurava king. The film was produced by Munirathna.
The film starring an ensemble cast of Darshan, Ambareesh, V. Ravichandran, P. Ravishankar, Arjun Sarja, Sneha, Meghana Raj, Sonu Sood, Danish Akhtar Saifi, Nikhil Kumar, Haripriya, Srinivasa Murthy, Srinath and Shashikumar is likely to cross Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office window. The score and soundtrack for the film is composed by V. Harikrishna whilst has the cinematography by Jayanan Vincent.
