Eid-al Adha aka Bakrid will be celebrated in India and many Asian countries on August 1, 2020. On the occasions of Bakra-EId or Eid Al-Adha, Muslims across the world sacrifice their best Halal animals as a symbol of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his only son.
Bakra Eid is popularly known as Sacrifice Feast as this auspicious occasion marks Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion and faith in almighty, Allah. The Almight had once asked Ibrahim to sacrifice, which he loves the most, to prove his love and faith.

Without thinking twice, Prophet Ibrahim decided to sacrifice his son, Ismail. When Prophet Ibrahim was to kill his son, God send his angel Jibra’il (Gabriel) to replace the son with a goat. Since then, the festival of sacrifice, Bakra Eid is celebrated to remember Prophet Ibrahim’s faith in God.
For the unversed, Eid Al-adha is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, which is the last month of Islamic calendar. It is one of the two Islamic festival celebrated throughout the world.
