Salman Khan or Ajay Devgn: Who will step into Mahesh Babu’s shoes in Dookudu Hindi remake?

Salman Khan was supposed to step into shoes of Mahesh Babu but he walked out of the project due to unknown reasons.

The latest South Indian film which will be remade in Hindi language is none other than Mahesh Babu and Samantha Akkineni starrer Dookudu. The news of Eros International acquiring the Hindi remake rights of Dookudu surfaced on the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s birthday, July 9 2020.

Directed by Srinu Vatila, Dookudu released in 2011 and turned out to be “The biggest hit you’ve never heard of” by The Los Angeles Times. According to reports, the film collected a distributor share of ₹619 million in its lifetime and grossed more than ₹1 billion in its lifetime making it the highest grosser of Telugu cinema then.

If anything to go by media reports, Salman Khan was supposed to step into shoes of Mahesh Babu but he walked out of the project due to unknown reasons. The report states that Ajay Devgn will now play lead role in Dookudu Hindi remake.

If everything falls into place, Ajay Devgn will add yet another film to the list of Rs 100 crore club. Prior to this, Ajay Devgn had acted in the remake of South Indian movies ‘Yamudu’ and ‘Maryada RAmanna’. The Bollywood actor is currently working with SS Rajamouli for much awaited film RRR, which will hit the theaters next year.
