Update | 11: 58 pm| Abhishek Bachchan has now also tested Coronavirus positive. The actor’s family and staff have undergone COVID-19 tests, their results are still awaited.

Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter on Saturday to inform that he has tested positive for Coronavirus. The actor is currently admitted to the Nanavati Hospital, Mumbai. He also urged anyone who has been in close proximity to him to get themselves tested.
“I have tested COVID positive. Shifted to Hospital. Family and staff undergone tests, results awaited. All that has been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested,” Amitabh Bachchan said in a tweet.

According to India Today reports, doctors have confirmed that the actor was symptomatic and has been self-isolating at his home before being shifted to Nanavati Hospital.
While he has been staying home ever since the lockdown began on March 25th, the Amitabh recently shot a promo for his new show and hence came in contact with the crew members.
Nanavati Hospital is located in Mumbai’s Ville Parle which is closest to the actor’s Jalsa home in Juhu.
Since the news broke out an hour ago, fans from the film fraternity and around the world are sending prayers and good health wishes to the veteran actor.
Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in Soojit Sircar’s ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ also featuring Ayushmann Khurana. The movie became the first feature film post lockdown to be released on an OTT platform. Amitabh was highly praised for his unrecognizable character as a greedy landlord.
Meanwhile, the actor is all set to return on the 12th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. His upcoming projects include Ayan Mukherjee’s big-budget multi-starrmulti-starrer movie Bhramhastra and Rumi Jaffery’s Chehre alongside Emraan Hashmi.
