Akshay Kumar resumes shooting for public service ad amid COVID-19 lockdown

Actor Akshay Kumar becomes the first person in Bollywood to resume outdoor shooting with Padman director R.Balki. The duo is shooting for an ad campaign for the Indian government.

Speaking about the campaign, R. Balki in an interview with IANS said, ”  “Akshay and I have shot this ad-campaign for the Government of India to make people aware of their responsibilities post lockdown. Things might seem difficult but through this ad, we now know what all precautions need to be taken to shoot in the post-lockdown era. Our producer Anil Naidu made everything seem effortless and we all maintained social distancing. The shoot happened smoothly following hygiene protocols, ensuring minimum crew with maximum efficiency and safety.”

The shoot took place in Kamalistan Studio, Mumbai. Several pictures from the set have been doing the rounds on social media. The production house had disinfected the set, maintained hygiene, and social distancing. No more than 20 people were part of this shoot.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has been at the forefront in helping the government tackle COVID-19. The actor has donated 25 crores to the PM care fund, 3 crores to the BMC, followed by a donation of Rs 2 crore to the Mumbai Police.
